What it does
Draws text over your image at a size proportional to the shorter edge, so the same settings work on a thumbnail and a full-resolution photo. Placement can be any corner, the centre, or tiled diagonally across the entire frame.
Corner or tiled?
A corner watermark is unobtrusive and fine for attribution, but trivially cropped out. Tiling makes removal genuinely difficult because the text crosses the subject itself — the right choice for proofs and previews, too intrusive for a portfolio piece.
Keep opacity around 40-50%. Below that it vanishes on busy images; above it, the watermark competes with the photo.
FAQ
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. Every tool here decodes and re-encodes your file using your browser's own Canvas APIs. The image never leaves your device, which is also why it works offline once the page is loaded.
- Can someone remove my watermark?
- A corner watermark can be cropped away in seconds, and modern inpainting tools can erase small marks convincingly. Tiled text across the subject is far harder to remove cleanly. Treat a watermark as a deterrent and an attribution, not as protection.
- Can I use an image or logo instead of text?
- Not in this tool — it does text only. For a logo, add rounded corners or transparency to your mark and composite it in an editor.
